Hello Class 5,

I hope you've all had a great weekend.
This week the suggested tasks will be in the same format as last week, with a daily English, maths and a wider curriculum task, as well as a list of spellings to practise throughout the week. In terms of the maths tasks, we've decided as a school that all of the year groups will spend the next few weeks focusing on practising key skills. This is to prepare you for moving up to the next year group. I know that some of you will find the worksheets fairly straight forward and they will not take you very long, therefore I have included some extra, more challenging activities for you to have a go at - these are indicated on the daily task sheets. 

For the wider curriculum tasks this week, we're going to be focusing on geography and learning all about mountains. 🗻🌄🚵

Virtual Sports Day

Dear Parents, Normally at the end of the year, we would spend a day all together out on the field, taking part in our School Sports Day. We may not be able to do that this year, but it doesn't mean we can't have some sports day fun. Instead, this year we will be having a Virtual Sports Day. There are 5 challenges for you to complete to win house points for your house. For all the details, please click here . The competition starts now! You have until Wednesday 16th July to get your scores in. Please email them to the schools Admin email account, with the Subject ' Virtual Sports Day' and your name child's name and year. Good morning, Here are today's tasks: Spelling Shed Reading Plus Times Table Rock Stars Spelling test Maths WALT: Interpret two-way tables Video Activity Answers English - COMPETITION WALT: Write a story based on a map Frank Cottrell-Boyce, who was the author we saw at the Literature Festival, loves using maps as a stimulus for his books. Have a go at sketching your own map, then write a story about it.
